Yuji Ichikawa,
Tohoku Univeristy (Japan) ichikawa@tohoku.ac.jp

Cold gas-dynamic spray process has demonstrated numerous advantages over the years and new possibilities are now emerging. With a view to the future, this symposium focuses on innovations linked to the cold spray process, actual and upcoming challenges and opportunities. The process will be addressed in its entirety and beyond: the combination of cold spray with other processes, the study of feed-stock powders, their tailoring and modification, the development of advanced characterisation methods and new diagnostic techniques, advanced process and material modelling, the study of particular microstructures and their effect on a broad range of material properties, repair and additive manufacturing by cold spray, post-treatment techniques, the assessment of residual stresses, etc.

The symposium will be held within the 34th International Conference on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT34) in Poitiers (France), October 27th-30th 2020. To participate to the symposium it will be necessary to register to SMT conference.

Abstract submission deadline: May 8, 2020

Symposium 2

"Innovations in thermochemical treatments to meet societal challenges"

Thierry Czerwiec, Université de Lorraine, Nancy, (France), thierry.czerwiec@univ-lorraine.fr

This symposium on thermochemical treatments will be an opportunity to bring together the scientific community in this field to discuss innovations in thermochemical treatment to meet the societal challenges of the future. In addition to the usual thematics of our community, this symposium will be an opportunity to present and discuss new research opportunities that are opening up to thermochemical treatments (Thermochemical treatments of high entropy alloys, MAX phase formation by thermochemical treatments, Nitrogen incorporation by thermochemical treatments, Duplex thermochemical treatments including patterning processes, DLC deposition, oxidation, carburizing, cold-spray, SMAT, and other technologies ...., Metallic alloys healing, Metallic alloys Hemocompatibility, Metallic alloys durability, Thermochemical treatments in additive manufacturing) Thermochemical treatments of high entropy alloys.

The symposium will be held within the 34th International Conference on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT34) in Poitiers (France), October 27th-30th 2020. To participate to the symposium it will be necessary to register to SMT conference.
